no wonder its going out of business. although that all sounds great from the consumer's point of view, that wouldn't be profitable enough for anyone to actually do it. time passed by the ben hogan company's business model.

I respectfully, totally, disagree

Dave Edel makes really good money with his putters, and so do the fitters.

You give me the right guy running "Hogan Custom Irons" and I'll show you a real good profit, and the fitters would do very good as well.

Making money in the golf business as a club manufacture these days has a lot to with Marketing, Brand MGT, and Tour Sponsorship. Most likely Hogan is too far gone to be revived; you would need a really good designer to start making stuff that Tour Players wanted to use so that you could market it and then make the more consumer friendly version of it.

Price fixing + minimum wage + an economy based on debt and faulty fundamentals = the lack of American craftsmanship.

The only equipment manufacturer that I'm loyal to is Mizuno, but only their old blades.

I buy what I like, and play it for years.

I lol at the idiots that buy a new driver every year.

I would get them to make clubs they used to make 40 years ago...clubs that are too hard to hit...no one would really play with them seriously, but you need to have equipment that reminds us of what tournaments clubs used to be like. And they should start making balata balls.
