Finally picked up these training aids.... probably the best 'set' of aides I've ever seen. The pure swing, in particular, will give you the 'feel' that Brian is taking about in his 'twist away', and the formed grip of the power angle is the best I've seen. (twist away can be felt using the swinglyde variation that has been posted before too).

They show you the feel of 'riding the rim'

Brian and others - have you used these, and what do you think of them?

I have had many of my students use the Power Release as well with great success. The only draw backs that I have found is the Power Angle, while great for teaching extensor action, does not allow the right arm to go to a full 90 degrees for everyone. The Pure Swing is great for impact alignments, but to keep the bar on the left arm during backstroke to the top require the left wrist to cup, opening the clubface. Just try to keep the bar off the left arm thru follow through (both arms straight). Power Release is wonderful for eliminating clubhead throwaway or leakage. They require some practice, but because the clubs are not full length they can be used indoors as well. Just move the furniture to be on the safe side.

I don't see the issue with the left wrist cup with the pure swing? Quite the opposite, assuming a proper grip (as on the power angle).

John R. Weaver, a G.S.E.B., inventor of the three training aids was surpose to make some changes to the Pure Swing by early spring. Maybe the changes have already been made? Regardless, if you are not getting the number one imperative (a flat left wrist at impact) you will know it.
