KB Tour Shafts??

KB TOUR 120 gram (slightly light weight), 5.5 converted frequency in all the irons except for the "L" wedge, which will be 5.2.

Driver Shaft: ROMBAX 5W, 6.2 converted frequency

3-Wood Shaft: ROMBAX 6W, 5.8 converted frequency

Hybrid Shafts: ACCRA 85 ORANGE, 5.5 converted frequency

Funny you should ask.

I need a iron head with a "little help."

The Ping S57's, Titleist AP2's, Cleveland CG RED IRONS/Tour Spec's, etc.

Today I talked to a rep and I should know something soon.

Can you explain why someone of your ability and ego :)p) would need an iron with a little help. Seriously though, I thought if you can hit it flush with reasonable clubhead speed that means you can use a more classic looking iron. I guess it's about the numbers these days...

It may just have something to do with the CG. True muscle backs don't help you get it up in the air much at all.

I find this interesting as well, not the ego part though. When does the numbers on TRACKMAN outweigh or diffuse the players "feel" and preference? I ask, cause I have fallen head over heels in love with blades and can't imagine any other look at address. If I get plenty of speed in my swing, which I do, will switching to a iron that "has a little help" really help that much?

I am happy with my AP2 irons with KB Tour 5.5. As Titleist does not yet show the KB Tour as a shaft option, I had them reshafted after I took delivery. I loved the Muira blades I had, but mishits just did not go anywhere.

you've only been playing for less than a year for crying out loud!!!!

I wish at a young age when I first started out that I had somebody preach to me to hit blades. Of course, when I got into the game that's when the Ping Eye 2's were the craze. So I think VJSinger is on the right track if he legitimately wants to do what it takes to swing the club effectively and become a much better player.

Played blades for a very long time. Experimented long ago with Pings, but hit the ball way too high with them and hated how they looked. Completely exited golf for 10 years, returning to it about 4-5 years ago. Bought a set of MP-32's. Then experimented with Henry-Griffits oversized cast heads. Forgiving yes, but just didn't like them after awhile.

Kind of stumbled into Titleist 965 Cavity Backs. Look of blades, but with some forgiveness. I can definitely feel the sweet spot. I think it is good to have some feedback relative to where you actually made contact with the ball.

Fixed the slice in 12 balls. ;)

First three shots: outside-in path 8 to 10 degrees, face open 5 to 7 to the path, downward angle of decent with a driver 2 or 3 degrees, even with a fast swing speed, the average distance was sub 240 yards.

His last three shots all had a 2 degree inside-out path, a 3 to 5° upward hit, a face a couple of degrees closed to the path, and, well 300+ yards.

Brian,
I was hoping you could explain what you did to fix him? I'm sure "twist-away" played a large part of it. Was that all you did to get that face closed? Did you have to fix his pivot? How did you get him swinging "inside-out"? What steps did you take and in which order?

Thanks,
p

Brian,

How did you rate PING'S new NFLIGHT fitting system that integrates trackman into the fitting system. It must be impressive, but if you are not moving serious amounts of sets the cost is too prohibitive.

Do you think that a lower grade launch monitor, like the "vector" is good enough to fit or would you just find the numbers not precise enough to "stand on" so to speak.
