Bobby Jones a Flipper?

agent 99,

at impact, the left knuckles appear to lead...

Interested in an option to your forward press? Bobby demonstrates the float takeaway, where the clubface lags on the takeaway. I believe Brian describes this as "standing up the grass" on the way back on flipper video while discussing the chip/pitch shot. Helps sets the stage to minimize tightening feel, keeps the hands/wrist loose.

Also, someone mentioned to reduce your backswing. Have you thought about going to 3/4's of what you feel on nearly all swings? Amazing how much the club will still travel relative to one's swing with this thought, and how effortless of a feel. Some may even pick up distance and accuracy because of this.

Gotta go, my shoe's ringing...

Thanks 86 - Very useful info. I won't divulge it to anyone!

True, but shaft flips through immediately after impact - Isn't that what we are supposed to avoid?

I have been trying the right hand takeaway, or at least what I think it is. It lifts the club a bit more than Jones's lag takeaway. But, I am hitting the ball a bit more consistently, so will stay with it for now.

My backswing is already very short! But, I tried that at the range today - It worked well for the shorter irons.

I also tried keeping my right foot down until impact, but after a shank and some otehr undescribable result, I forgot about it - But, I think I am keeping it down more than in the pictures I posted. Need to get the camera out again!
