breadking it down

I am probably the newbie of the forum when it comes to this tgm stuff and it is time for me to start to understand this method. I am working with john but he only has so much time to work with me and wants me to start studying. So I am just going to start asking very basic questions more frequently. Onto the questions

So accumalation basically means the bigger the angle the more power that is stored and waiting to be released?

Here you go buddy:

When in doubt do a search man. If you get nothing then don't be afraid to ask....I don't mind explaining.....but do a search first.

BTW you prolly should get the book too, like 6 said. It's fairly technical but it grows on you in time....makes more sense as time goes on and you learn more. It's pretty cool when you get to the point where you can understand it.

[EDIT] Oops...I guess you can't post search results. Try searching for "accumulators"....search in "Topics Only."

I have the book, not exacly sure why people think I dont have the book, have had it for a few weeks now. I am reading out of it most everyday and just trying to break it down in my mind into more simple thoughts, it is a very hard read for me. I did a search and I had a hard time finding the answer in the terminology I can understand, forgive my ingorance.

shootin4par, like you, I'm relatively new to TGM. My advice would be to keep reading the book, but don't be in to big a hurry to understand it. Look at TGM like running a marathon, not a sprint.

By far, this is the best TGM website to get advice on macro-TGM. I think the chuck evans site is a better place to get micro-TGM. And, the chuck evans site is a little more new-guy friendly. Folks on here can "forget where they came from" sometimes:). And, you will need some tough skin as the board can get a little heated at times. Which I think is a great thing.

Schedule a lesson with Brian as soon as possible...if you haven't already.

Take care

It's not ignorance....don't worry.

....

No one knew you had the book. Now we do. Good.

I suggested searches because you can find almost anything....just a tip.....so you don't have to keep posting.

It is a hard read for a beginner....

I don't think it gets that heated in here......only when it's justified....which makes it a good thing (most of the time- when it's JUSTIFIED....we get to the bottom of lots of things we wouldn't have otherwise, no?).

For the record....no one's really justified yet to attack (attack?) you in any way.

Ask again if you still don't understand Accumulators.

c21, I teach so therefore I have a very limited budget, scheduling a lesson with bman is not really an option. However, I am getting help from John Weaver, some tgmers know him, at a very fair price. He wants me to do some studying and I want to show him I value his time and take what he is doing for me very seriously by going out and learning without having to be guided by him 100%.

Birdie, I dont feel attacked or anything the such, people here are pretty helpfull. I am new to the TGM but must admit I already believe it to be spot on and not some fly by night fad of how to swing a club. I know it will take time. Now after a couple of years studying this I will be ready to argue :)

from my reading and discussions with John my current thought is that;
at address you are in a set up position. Left arm hangs in a neutral position, right elbow SLIGHT bent, left wtist uncocked, and no lag. Half way down into the downswing you are in a postion that left arm is across the chest some more (#4 has an increased angle) more lag (#2 has increased angle), and right elbow bent (#1 has I.A.) and now all these increased angles are waiting to be released along with the roling of left forearm. SO all these things being released from these power accumulating positions, is the power source in the golf swing.

You may have already seen these responses by tongzilla and 6b1d in the "Accum #3" thread which answer your questions -
