Brian, can you elaborate on what you stated?

You mentioned recently that most people...tour players included....play way too stiff of a shaft. That sounds simple enough but could you please elaborate further?

You gotta bend that sucker going back and be able to feel the clubhead.

I recommend buying Confessions of a Former Flipper, lot of good stuff about that in that video.

I've got a 5-iron that I installed a x100 and had it tipped 3" to make it ultra stiff. It's for practice purposes.

I can actually hit it well. The dispersion is very tight. But I lose about 1-2 clubs of distance on it. To me, you need to be able to have enough pivot action in your swing to hit very stiff shafts and then from there it's a tradeoff between dispersion and distance.

I just got the Tour Version of the X-100 DG's in some Titleist blades... too stiff for this guy. If I go super hard at it, they are fine, but the subtle miss and my fillings shake. Besides, I only hit a couple of "full" iron shots during a round anyway.

Funny, I have the old satin Precision Rifles in my old Titleist blades and they freq out the same as the X-100, but the X-100's feel like telephone poles.

Another odd thing, when I demonstrate something with a students soft shafted club, I really have to be patient in transition or I'm liable to miss the dang ball. Amazing how the shafts provide that sense of timing.

I'm not enough of the shaft nerd to know all the details.
