Brian Manzella Academy "Tour Stop" and School - Long Island, New York (Recap)

I had a lesson today from Brian, WOW everything people that had a lesson from Brian was right. He is a good guy and knows how to teach.

Now about Brians lesson with me. He showed me places to go with my club were no man has went before (only kidding). I'm so estatic at what was taught me I cant wait to practice what he showed me.

He showed me how I can take a divot, how to strike a ball right, & what happens when you don't do it right. How showed me the principles of how it works and why. How to hit sand shots (and it worked for me). How to chip and pitch and putt.

I can go on and on and on how my lesson went and how happy it turned out. I'm one happy customer and it was worth every penny.

Thank you Brian for a great experiance of how the game of golf should be played for (me)..joeparr

PS. And yes he is also a great person and down to earth our equal not some snob

Joe Parr!

Well,

What a fun lesson.

Joe is a 72 athlete, who dispite many lessons from some very good teachers and some who aren't (in the top 100... ), he was not hitting shots off of the ground very well at all.

Quite simply, he was attempting a pattern on the right side of the Manzella Matrix (the draw swing side), and was, as we say, "outside the lines."

Swinging too flat and too inside-out.

He fit very nicely in a swing that was as opposite as possible.

A perfect example of how THE PATTERN WAS WRONG FOR THE STUDENT.

Joe's divots became TOUR QUALITY as he hit shots out of basically dirt, ball divot with a STRAIGHT PLANE LINE all day long!

A perfect example of a golfer who would have been ruined with an "out to right field" swing.

Thanks Joe!

Maybe next time we'll play some golf.

Brian Manzella and Michael Jacobs on Long Island

I wanted to attend the Academy on Long Island May 19-20 but wasn't able to fit it into my schedule, so I set up a lesson with Michael Jacobs for 5/16. Well worth the 2 hour drive as he identified my problems quickly and then we went to work. He discussed some of the TGM principles with me and tried to get me to understand as best as someone who isn't a master of the book can. The important thing was my improved ball striking by the end of the lesson and the knowledge that if I work on what he taught me it will only get better.

As luck would have it, Brian Manzella had gotten into town. He took the time to look at my swing and video and offer suggestions and the benefit of his knowledge. A very nice and gracious gesture from someone who owed me nothing.

At the end of my lesson Mike took me out to the hardest hole on the course, a 470 yard par 4 dogleg left into the wind. I had been hitting high slices all spring, so a daunting task. A solid drive and a 3 iron to 20 feet , easy par.

The proof is in the pudding. Thank you Michael and Brian.

Thanks guys. I from the New haven area. Brian did you ever finish the lesson after mine cause of the storm. When I hit the whitestone bridge is was dark
as night wind, blowing and stuck in the middle of that bridge swaying real hard. It was scarry. Then thinking shit this bridge better hold out I have to go to the driving range and practice my new swing. I`ll let you know how I do....joe

Today's lesson with Brian.

All I can say is Brian really knows his stuff. Every time we get together I learn a ton of new information. I spent 3 hours today with him. I left the lesson hitting the ball straight at my targets and he even developed a drill right on the spot for me. Brian made a tweak to my putting grip and ball position. I played golf after the lesson and I am rolling the ball better than ever before. We also worked on pitching. That part will take me some time but when I get the “tour pitch” down I feel my game will be able to produced some really low scores.

Thanks again for your time Brian.

The Pudding and the Hype.

Thanks G!

Mike Jacobs is one of the best teachers anywhere and a great guy and great friend.

Both Michael and I have similar concerns as to the fate of TGM students everywhere.

We know what works, and we see a lot of what doesn't.

We do our best everyday to make golfers better—And we do.

The proof IS in the pudding!

Weather, Schmeather!

At the Brian Manzella Golf Academy and at the Michael Jacobs Golf School, we have been teaching golf to the masses for a long time.

I have taught in Rain, Snow, Cold to the point of silly, & hot to the point of melting grips.

This Long Island Tour Stop has gone as well as ANY "Tour Stop" I have ever given. One great day of Golf Instruction after another.

One of my BEST lesson days in 25 years was FRIDAY, where it rained all day and was very cold.

Our own "Gumper" and his son had a half-day each with me, and if the Golf Channel would have covered it, my Great-Grandkids wouldn't have to work a day in their lives.

The School is at the half-way point, with Day 1 under our belt—and Day 1 was one of the best School Days I have ever had in the business.

As I type, the Sun is shining, it is Sunday morning, and we all look forward to a great Short Game, Lesson DVD, and 18 laying Lesson with the Pros day!

What Weather?

Well Brian it is sunday mirning and I am in NY for my brothers wedding with the wife n kids. wish I would have had a chance to hook up.

Ever a chance on Bringing the Italian to the Great White Notrth for osme golf instruction?

Weather, Schmeather indeed

Well, Brian is correct. My son and I both had terrific days working with Brian. I'll post more detail in a separate post.

My lesson with Brian

For those of you who have been thinking about going out of your way to take lessons with Brian, do yourself a favor and go for it. Here's what to expect: a lesson that is custom-designed for what *you* need.

Brian has an unbelievable eye, and can spot things that most pros won't catch with a video program. He will then experiment with all of the possible solutions to what ails you until the *best* one is found, *not* the first possible fix. He will then explain to you why that option is the best one for you. Joe Parr, who saw Brian before me, had some similar issues, but got a totally different prescription.

Brian also has dozens of ways to get you to understand things. He'll toss off some of his familiar phrases ("Dribble the basketball all the way down" is an important one for me) or he'll come up with new ideas on the spot. The man is quick on his feet. However, he'll also get down on his hands and knees, as he did on the wet mat, to illustrate things.

Brian is passionate about his teaching, and a helluva nice guy as well. Here's an analogy: Imagine having the opportunity to take a guitar lesson with Jimi Hendrix (That's for you, Birdie. I'd go for SRV or Clapton.) Do you think that you'd go out of your way for that?

It was great to have Brian out on Long Island. He truly is a golf expert and it is amazing to watch him in action. We are so happy he came and he is such a great guy.

He ate us out of house and home and also chased our dog for five straight days!!! Come back soon Brian!
