Since nevermind brought this back up, i'd like to update it.
Basically i have practiced my own version of this shot at the range a few times and have SUCCESSFULLY used this shot ON THE COURSE, where it matters.
Also, as i've seen on the range, this technique does impart more spin on partial shots. I've used it off both fluffy lies as well as hardpan lies without issues with no "blading" at all. However i have practiced it at the range so i'm confident in the shot.
Just something new i've added to my short game arsenal

I needed "the tour pitch" today. I know the single axis guys use to talk about how bertholy could teach ppl to his a low 50 yard wedge that would only rise 6ft and check. Similar to Lee trevino's burning wedge. I need that shot.

self-mastery...that shot is different from this one. However that isn't that hard of a shot to perform. Different technique
