In your setup article you state

"For a driver off of the tee, place the ball more toward the toe of the club "

I see many place it towards the heel of the club with the driver ala VJ. What is the reasoning for your method?

i presume you mean toward toe of ball when club is grounded?

Try address the ball with the driverhead in the air with the teed ball at the sweetspot on the driver. Now lower it to the ground[^]

Brian argues to address the ball the same way (a little towards the toe of the club) on irons shots too. Same reason.

He means that some people address it off the heel. Why would they do that?

People line it off the heel because in theory it forces you to drop the club to the inside on the downswing to get the club back to the ball square. Prolly more psych than anything.

Fuzzy does this and so does Vj. Other pro's do it too.

Wanole:

As Homer told us in the book, when we move into impact fix, our F/L/V left wrist and B/L/V right wrist are both pointing down the angle of approach (out to right field so to speak). He also states that while moving into impact fix and adjusting the machine, the club should not be soled....reason being is that is you move into impact fix with the club soled, while hitting/swinging, your club may move right back where you soled it...hitting it fat and behind the ball.

Thus, if you have your FLV left wrist and BLV right wrist facing down the angle of approach at impact fix, then, let the clubhead be soled from the wrists, the ball will look to be addressed on the toe, however, it will be square with precision alignments at impact.

ah, I see. It did help with my driver last night. Didn't try with the irons though.
