I was on the golf team my junior yr. in high school with Bruce. The following yr. I opted for track instead of golf and did pretty good. I thought my track record was a better accomplishment than playing golf. In retrospect...

About ten yrs. ago I met Bruce at the Tucson Open. He remembered me but when I told him I was working on a book on the golf swing, I saw him looking for the exits. He hated any analysis.

His swing was basically a cut. He was quite vertical earlier on. Not a great swing, but quite effective. In high school he was a little more volatile. I think the bass fishing calmed him down and he played in an almost detached fashion similar to Els' attitude.
