Looking at Furyk and Toms position it would seem that this is not a course that eliminates the short hitter, what I don't understand about Long hitters (Except Tiger) Is why many seem to do poorly with this type of course ( Bubba, Phil, Dustin, etc). I seems to me that distance is always an advantage. If they can't hit their drivers, they have an advantage in being able to hit a more lofted club (3 wood, Hybrid) to get it in play. Then if they have the same distance into the green, the longer hitter gets to hit less club. It seems to me the true greats ( Nicklaus, Woods) still win on these types of setups. The Bubba's and Dustin's with one dimensional games, loose their advantage and can't compete. I don't have stats, but I would bet that Bubba and Phil, hit driver more times today than Tiger. I've already stated that I think Bubba is a moron, but why can't Phil figure out how to hit a shot 260 in the fairway?
