Interesting point on the fade, only guy i see on the leaderboard who usually hits a draw is Mcdowell.

I said earlier this week, that Bubba would struggle at this course. Masters is his best shot at a major. I love the masters, but there is no rough and he can blow it four fairways right or left and have a good lie, that kind of game doesn't play at the US Open. Look at the leaderboard and a lot of average length but straight players Choi, Toms, Furyk, etc.

Wise words. Nice to see whackers out of contention at least once a season.

Dariusz - I think you maybe missed the significance of that quote. That guy was complaining about exactly the sort of set-up that you advocate - narrow fairways, deep rough, no real choice of shot off the tee - but hit the fairway or be damned. BTW - it was Hogan talking about Oakland in '51.

Interesting. Never heard it before. Why should Hogan complain against his biggest advantage over the field ? Do you have a source to confrm his words ?
