When asked of the origin of the expression "Leg Pulling" an English teacher just sent me this (unfair?) quote as an example of it's usage ...
"For grating smugness, self-aggrandisement, unprickable pomposity, and perpetual name-dropping, even the egotistical area of sports television presenters can offer no one to rival Butch Harmon, the American golf coach. His co-presenters never laugh at him or pull his leg."
