Camera placement?

Could any of the instructors or experienced please take the time and tell me how to place the camera when filming swings. How many paces? the best way to get as accurate as a shot as possible?..etc. I have a high speed casio, if that even matters. I did a search, but was unsucessful. Thanks...Go Pitt.:)

i think its been said on here before somewhere that if you place the camera on the target line on ground level then this eliminates parallax as much as possible. this is a big problem, but i cant validate that other than a vague recolection of what i read on the forum

Thanks Pecky..Much appreciated. I need to ask Brian to delete the thread. I have decided not to look at my golf swing for awhile. Things are starting to get alot better and I tend to want something that "looks like the guys on T.V.". I don't want to analyze anymore I just want to hit the ball and go play....I'll let Kevin and Brian worry about what it looks like or what to due with it ultimately, at least until I figure out what is going to work for me, then MAYBE I'll look at it.

Brian please delete this thread. Thanks, VJ

i'd like to keep the thear open as i'd like an answer for my own knowledge

Yeah me too. I had a link for camera placement through the PGA links and went to look at it and post it up for this thread and it the link wasnt valid anymore. If anyone has the web material that the PGA charges you for (like $300 ridiculous!) it was in there. The library of information is only available to you online for a year and then you have to pay the whole amount again...but I digress!

I will try some other avenues as well and try to post them and see if the forum agrees with the positions.

Steve

I don't think there's any doubt about it...trying to look a certain way on video can be brutal for your golf game.

Having said that, there are certain things you wouldn't have a clue you were doing if you didn't see them. But you still have to know what to fix and what to leave alone.
