Can't hold twistaway/lag sweet spot to save my life

This is my first post, so please bear with me.

I got Flipper and NSA over the weekend and have been working on the first few steps of NSA. I can get the correct neutral grip and do the twistaway so that I have a flat or even bowed left wrist at the top, but I cannot for the life of me hold the twistaway and lag the sweet spot on the way down. This is probably because I played a slight fade/slight draw for the last few years with an extremely strong grip, making me open the face on the way down.

Does anyone have ANY tips or drills that may help me with this? I tried the youtube drill that Brian put on there (swing with the right thumb off and the right forefinger unhooked) but it didn't really help much.

Thanks.

Not to fluff you off, but it seems that you've only been doing it a couple of days. It can be a hard change. Just keep practicing arching that wrist toward the ground in the transition and you'll get better at carrying it to the ball.

Maybe focusing on getting to the "full roll" finish swivel will help? Maybe not focusing on the downswing but rather on the finish will help. Just a thought.

START HERE:

Finish with the left thumb UNDER the club. and the left elbow directly UNDER the thumb.

Remember to get there....rotate your left ELBOW as well.

Thanks guys. I've already been doing the "fix the finish" move to make sure I put the club and the back of the left hand on the movie screen, but I'll keep doing it.
I think I may have figured something out though watching NSA again for the third time. I think it may help me a lot to try and increase the twist on the way down, instead of just trying to hold it. Like Brian said in Flipper, it's easier to move to a position than it is to hold the position.
If the weather cooperates, I'll try again tomorrow and see how it goes.
Thanks again.

Well, I got to the course today and the key for me is definitely trying to increase the twist on the way down and through. If I think about the twistaway as a full swing move instead of just a backswing move, I naturally end up in the "wedding ring up" finish.
