Chipping and pitching advice

Hi everyone. I'm making good progress in recovering from a herniated neck disc thanks to the egoscue method.

I'm now able to chip and it's a good time to fix my action.

When I chip I have a problem getting it fat and when I close my eyed and swing to the ball slowly and stop before impact the club is way inside and open. I figured the famous towel drill would be a good start along with rewatching flipper.

Anyone care to share their favoured chipping and pitching drills.

Towel drill is good but remember that impact is 3 dimensional - down, out and forward. A little inside and open just before impact sounds good too me. If your shots are going right then trace a straight plane line. Put a shoe box outside of the ball and parallel to your plane line/line of flight to help you tace it.

OK.

Put a line of balls about 5 inches apart.

Start swing the club back an forth the "appropriate length" for the shot at hand.

Walking forward, step with the left foot—hit, swing back, left foot—hit.

Hit 'em all.

what is this designed to achieve brian?

No yips.........smooth.............uninhibited......etc.

(just like 6 beers)

You line em up perpendicular to your target line(s).

(like a firing squad)
