Chipping with bounce

Do we chip with the leading edge for some clubs and bounce others? Or do we use the bounce for all.

I'm thinking about 7 and 9 irons.

Unless the ball is sitting in the divot made by a handle-dragger after 4-putting....use the bounce.

I do not teach de loft for chipping for that reason. It leads to MORE fat shots

So I went for a lesson and my teacher wanted to start with wedge play. He never mentioned the bounce, but set me up more open and had me make natural right hand only shots. All of a sudden, all this stuff you guys have been talking about for the longest time, made sense for me.
