closed vs open face at setup

Im not saying you cant. Just that for 30 years ive seen slicers take it outside the more they close it. i dont go by old sayings just what i see every day!

Makes sense. Closed face, outward/high rear arm, open shoulders= outside takeaway tendency. All those factors work together and the opposte for open face / inside takeaway.

it's true for me, the more open the face, the more tendency for me to let it roll inside on the takeaway and get flat. More closed, more outside on the takeaway and more upright. May also be why I can close the face and not go left, probably a steep or more left approach.

It's weird, but

I have my hybrid, 3 wood, and driver setup open.

If i don't, i pull to the left. Especially the hybrid, hooking off the planet.

It's why I see a lot of better players open the face to hit a draw. Starts it right and helps hit it more from inside...

That's how I do it. Could not agree more. Many but not all of the great faders of the ball played shut faced and closed at address - closed face at set up that is
