Just reading the sports section in the Pittsburgh Tribune Review and noticed Kevin finished second in this weeks local Tri-State PGA event and has qualified to play in the new Nationwide Tour event ( Mylan Classic) to be played late this summer at Southpointe Golf Club here in suburban Pittsburgh. Nice going! He shot 67---but the winner set a new course record of 63. I have played Southpointe a number of times---a few pretty quirky holes. And I think the Nationwide guys are going to eat this course alive, in spite of some new tee boxes being put in to lengthen the course. Kevin, what do you think??

I think i should consider practicing alot more if i dont want to be a trunk slammer after 36. Gonna have to clear the books a few weeks in advance.

Congrats Kevin. Great to hear teachers still play this game.

I'm not sure how to take this John..What if Kevin is a player and not a teacher first?? Is this a dis on Kev?? IMO, it is hard to be a great teacher and a great player..I only know one person that is great at both, not a golf instructor...anyhoo...Congrats Kev, follow your heart, go for it! Balls to the wall!!

vj, i think jon just means its nice to hear a teacher still playing PERIOD. Lots of times when you teach full time, hell i teach super part time, you can at times lose the desire to actually go play golf. Sometimes its also hard to go play because you have so many damn thoughts rattling around in your head from teaching various students various patterns.

Thats all :)

Well done Kev: do you need a caddy? I will manage you and broker a deal with Mountain Dew to provide a full sponsorship...

On a serious note this is a great achievement as few really understand how tough it is to compete against full time players. You did have an unfair advantage though- Trackman&Manzella!

Congrats!

Great job Kevin! You are easy to pull for as you're always generous with everyone who visits this site!

Thanks!
