True, Damon. But there are possible "varations" of having humerus parts attached. The rule of thumb is that the more you straighten your arms the more humerus bones come in front and they can stay attached there - this is exactly the way I putt. Probably it is a method of putting for some real good players as well.
I agree that having them attached at the shirt seams could be very ineffective, of course depending on a goal we choose.

Having the humeri attached so that the putting stroke is more body driven seems to have too much variation in path and face due to the difficulty controlling core torso muscles. These are mostly postural muscle, so they have less innervation and therefore have less of a capacity for finer movements which is needed to control the putter path and face. It also feels awkward and robotic.

It seems bent over a bit more with the humeri hanging loosely to get more of a pendulum from the gleno-humeral joints is easier to control the path and face of the putter. So would that be option B for my preference?

I agree!

Easier to control face and path of the putter, and softer muscle tone with option b.
