Coupling point question

I have been working on getting my CP to it's lowest point prior to getting to the ball with my hands. This has resulted in some of the most amazing iron shots I have ever hit. It has also led to some fat shots with really shallow divots.

My feeling is I have to go normal earlier than before because the 'hula hoop' is more in the ground than before.

Make sense to anyone? Without any close access to TM I have to rely a bit on ball flight and it seems I am on the right track in terms of the good ones.

As an additional consideration, make sure that the location of the coupling point's upward motion is forward (enough). For myself, I sometimes find myself "pulling" a little too much backwards, and I usually just need to make sure that I'm still getting ahead (enough) of the ball. JMO.
