Cutting off the chicken's wing

My brother has a serious problem with the chicken wing. Swing looks good until approaching impact, then both arms bend and the follow through is ugly. What are the probable causes of this problem? Can you suggest any drills to get rid of it? I have him hitting knockdowns, but it doesn't seem to help much. Thanks in advance.

Jim, thanks very much for the reply. Can you explain the twistaway? I've searched the forums and there is a lot of discussion about it, but I haven't seen it clearly defined. Thanks again.

Search for Brian's article entitled:

Never Slice Again

It's in there.

Thanks, Jim. I've sent him that information. Any other drills you can recommend? It's a situation where he knows what he's "supposed to do," but he just can't seem to get it done.

The best drills are on the Never Slice Again 2.0 dvd, well worth the money, and you can watch it over and over again and learn something new every time.

Weird thing is that he doesn't slice at all. I mean never. If anything, he hits more of a draw. And his grip is neutral. His miss is a pull.

Never Slice Again isn't just for slicers just like Never Hook Again isn't just for Hookers.

If you can do the twist-away and put the club on the movie screen (as we say) you LITERALLY (and physical) CANNOT chickenwing. You might bend the left arm too soon but you will not be chicken winging at all.
