I had an unexplicable surge in power and distance last night on the range with what I feel was a lagging clubhead, discovered by accident. I was actually doing Brian's twistaway waggle out in front of me on a horizontal plane, then I would bend over in my golf stance and do a preset waggle, stop, then resume the swing. What I noticed was that upon resuming my upper body turn to the top, my lower body was going targetward, or at least not going back. It wasn't a lagging feel so much as it was s stretching feel. There was some dynamic going on betweeen my left foot and my hands,as if I wanted to keep them apart. There was a resistance feeling, as if I was pulling against something. I worried I was going to snap my club. What in the heck was I doing? My 7 iron went 30 yards further than normal.

Sounds like the rotor action of a swinger. Probably the pivot unwinding correctly that is creating this dragging feel.

So you were making a hip slide towards the target on the backstroke?
