Downswing Hip Slide

Wondering if anybody would elaborate with other drills/swing thoughts at the 25 minute mark of Brian's YouTube Video The Brian Manzella Golf Show - Episode 4.

What he explains is exactly what I see on video of my swing (and for some reason no other teacher has ever commented on it before). My hips slide past my left leg and then the turn just stops. I end up dumping the club. Brian recommends getting into that pre-impact position and hitting chips and punches to get the "feeling" down and keeping that firm left side. Anything else? Than you in advance... it's a great video.

If you draw a line up the outside of your left leg at address, on a normal swing, you should ONLY SLIDE toward the target enough for that line to be mid-leg at impact.

That's not much.

If your goal through impact is to be PUSHING UP from your left leg toward your left ear, while you pull up and back on the grip, you WILL slide less.
