Drawing Irons, Fading woods.....Whats Up w/That ??

I "generally" hit my irons straight or with a slight draw, even my 3 iron. But, my 3 wood and even driver are straight or fade. 3 wood is especially fading off the deck. Still thinking inside back aft of the ball, but, no relief. Any guesses?

I'm darn interested in the responses since I've been fighting this for years no matter what "flavor of the month" I choose to swing with[xx(]

Two things: a draw of the irons and the fade of woods, if are reliable -- should be envied. You can pull the club, line the shot and know exactly where the ball is going. I fade irons and draw my woods. Who knows, maybe it is the shape of the head, the shaft flex, but the important thing is, I know which way the ball is going. This is a positive.

Second thing: If you study TGM on your own or learn from Brian who learned from Ben who learned from Homer Kelly… never mind. Not important to everyone. Just rely on the ball flight and have fun playing.

Guys..(with this malady)...

You are OFF-PLANE (above) on the downswing.

Practice swinging under a stick.

The stick should be six-to-ten inches behind the ball, on the target line, and about that high off the ground.

Use something that won't hurt if you hit it ;)!

Sounds like you are recommending the Inside Approach (or a copy thereof).

There is some serious merit to the Inside Approach, sums up Hogan's glass image - "you can be below it, but you are asking for trouble if you are above" (the pane of glass) - and the inside approach makes sure of this.

Brian, I know you are a fan of 'fixing the clubface first', but what do you think of the Inside Approach? A 'path' fix (well, a 'plane' fix) that really does the trick from what I can see.

I didn't invent swinging under the stick and neither did the inside approach "inventor"...

...Fix the clubFACE first, then swing under the STICK.
