No Doubt.

Ping i10

The PING Staff PGA Tour Players I saw while teaching David Toms in New Orleans this spring, were using a lot of i3's!

They did not like the i5.

The i10 is VERY Tour Player "designed."

Get 'em.

I ordered a set a couple of weeks ago after hearing the same thing. They're arriving tomorrow. Ping shipped them out less than a week after receiving the order. I can't wait to go out and hit them on the range.

Bill tho man they've looked like crap for the past 2 or 3. Honestly they look horrid. Crap.

Right on the clubface on 2 of the irons the chrome is peeling off the toe and now there are big unchromed rust spots the size of a quarter on the toe of two of my irons. A couple more have huge dents on the leading edge from hitting rocks.

I dunno. I coulda been easier on em....but sometimes you don't know a rock's there till you hit it. It just really made me want to go to cast. And I like PINGs anyway. I just want solid, reliable, performing well, and nice profile and to me that's perfect.

Having said that tho I haven't actually ever hit a Mizuno or Miura iron to see what all the hubbub is about. I do know that I have hit PINGs that to me felt as good or better than anything I've hit. (there with a set of Macgregor Muirfield Customs)

All this is a bit tough tho cause where I'm at there aren't these big golf shops and demo days for me to test a bunch of irons and shafts. Ideally u don't want to keep buying and selling cause that's a pain in the ass.

BTW yes eBay is "the bomb" Bill. It's for sure fine if you do a bit of homework.

And BTW pt. 2- I think outside the box every day. ;)

Good enough recommendation though.

Ooooh. This coming from a TM staffer. Have you hit em?

I know they are supposed to be prettier than the i5s.

i10s over the s58s?

No love for r7 TP Tour?

the I-10s are like an improved version of the I-3+ blades. They are actually really nice. I haven't hit them but i would bag them, very playable.

Tried the G5 irons and Driver and they were the worst clubs I have hit.

So i've been put off by Ping's ever since.

Nice putters though!!

you need to try em all....and let us know!!

Miura

A player's profile/topline, forged, durable, and satin = Miura. Checkout the CB301 and CB202 at miuragolf.com

Muira...

My Taylor Mades are Muira forgings.

The ABSOLUTE BEST!

But...not very durable. VERY soft metal, one rock, and you have a BIG chip.

Great feel though.

I hated the G5 irons and woods. Best club ever made was still the Eye2's IMO. I3+'s are a good club too. But you really should see their newer stuff.

Miura = durable

From how soft/pure these (cb301) feel, I've been quite impressed with their durability so far - had 'em all summer and they're still in great shape. I probably should have qualified "durable" as a relative term, but I have yet to see an iron rock-retardant, lol.

Tested

I just got a set of Miura CB-301 with X-100 shafts. Great feel. Cavity back but feels like a blade. And I didn't need to hit it nearly as hard as I thought I'd need to to use those shafts.

I heard a clubmaker once say, " After a nuclear war, only two things will survive: cockroaches and Ping irons!"

Pretty durable I'd say. Not my cup of tea, but I wouldn't question their quality or durability.

I absolutely love Miura and Endo forgings because they are so soft and feel great. I don't anyone would ever call a club forged at these two houses "durable".

If you want a durable forging, then I'd guess it's a stainless steel forging like Titleist's 755 and 775. I hate em, but I bet they are durable.

If I wanted durable, I'd get Pings. Fine clubs, very durable.

Any cast iron will last forever, my all time favorite cast club of all time (i've actually decided to pick up a set as a backup) are the orignal RAC LTs, not the RAC LTIIs or the new R7 TPs.

Also, Leek, the titleist stainless steel forgings aren't that durable imo. I have a set of 775s and they get crappy pretty quick.

Really Jim? I'm surprised! They FEEL so hard at impact.

I've gone the other way, very soft TourStage Endo forgings a my main set, and Srixon forgings for my backups.
