Elbow Plane

Is it possible to do a no-shift stroke on the elbow plane? If so, what would be the argument for doing so? And how would it relate to a Hardy One-Plane swing? As a recent student of TGM, I have only come to understand the Three Imperatives; and as a consequence of working on a FLW and tracing a straight plane line, my game has improved enormously. My own swing is on the more standard TSP. Two years ago I was flirting with Hardy's approach. Now I am not so interested in going in that direction, though I am interested in understanding it from the standpoint of TGM.

Thanks, Tom. If I am trying to develop an uncompensated stroke as a swinger, should I avoid the EP at impact and, rather, try to use the TSP?

Elbow plane is a very flat plane! Tgm recommends a turned shoulder , so you could start on elbow plane then a single shift to turned shoulder plane and then take your right forearm and your right shoulder down that plane to impact.

Most 'swingers' return to the elbow plane on the downswing. But, it is not something that I would try to do. Your body ether wants to get back to the elbow or stay on a different plane. As long as you trace a straight plane line it doesn't matter.

most swingers are between elbow plane and turned shoulder plane through impact, when you are on tuned shoulder plane on the way down the shoulder surports the right forearm the right forearm suports the pressure point 3 1 behind a lagging shaft!!!! but there are other ways to swing on other planes correct!

I was just thinking about this cause I brought it up earlier in another thread....and also have been tinkering with it.

So.....should it FEEL like a shift? Should you feel like you have to actively shift down?

For you Elbow Planers...............Brian.......Tom...........does it just happen?

What does it feel like when you try to go down the TSP?
