End Point of Backswing

What should I be feeling for at the end of my backswing? I always seem to have the feeling of "slack" in the wrists before I start down. It actually feels a lot worse with the longer clubs. I never have a firm feeling of any sort regarding loading of the club. Is it supposed to be cocking of the left wrist or pressure against PP #3 for instance?

when the momentum is done moving the club
a child in the swing uses momentum to get to the top and then changes direction. In the golf swing we may need to change direction a split second before the top just to keep a little pressure with the hands. Take a mid iron and hold it right hand only, then swing it back and forth, no body turn, and feel it change direction, then start applying pressure for the way down and you can feel when to dhange direction. I dont know, something like that.

Appreciate the input. I've been looking through some past threads regarding slack and such. I will try some remedies mentioned in those. I can float load pretty well with short and mid irons, but it is a disaster with longer clubs. I can hyper-extend my wrists, and I can turn my shoulders quite far. Could the increased flexibility contribute to increased slack? Or is it usually more of a technique issue?
