So, more "arm swing" with less left shoulder "jump," less extended look.[/QUOTE]

Use your Pivot to snap your Kinetic Chain

Could some explain the difference in these two statements please? I don't understand how you can use more "are swing" and use your pivot to snap the chain. I must be missing something, not the first time.

Thanks for taking a look Brian, I have not watched SD yet but plan on getting it soon. I do appreciate you taking the time to answer the post. Will work on keeping the left shoulder as far from the left hand as possible.

People snap in different ways and at different times. I snap my chain pretty well but add arms earlier than some so i do have a shaft "up the left arm" past impact. Couples, Singh, Garcia dont have this look but snap their chains pretty well. Thinking about the jump hasnt ever been as effective for me as it is for some.

left shoulder up and back

Is it as simple as moving your left shoulder up and back or does another movement cause this to happen?

If I may give another feel that may help.

Statically get to somewhere around the half way down position in the downswing and put the club, near the clubhead, on a chair or back of a couch. Make sure you have the face in the right position. Then finish the swing making contact where you should by swivelling the hands and pushing with the right arm(keep the right wrist bent until impact--this should help with the force across the shaft) while at the same time rotating the left shoulder up and back; you will also need to allow the right shoulder to rotate down and toward the ball to match the left shoulder. The rotating of the shoulders is the major motion. The arms and hands will have to extend unless you don't allow them to.
