Freaky Faldo: Super Shaft Stress

This shaft stress mess means nothing! Faldo played a grinders control game and relied on surgical placement of the ball and not distance.

I think you need shutter speeds of 1/4000th sec or faster to freeze frames such speeds. Then it possibly may show the true shaft bends.

Old footages, e.g. Ben Hogen etc, are no good (in relation to this topic)because such high speed cameras are not available then.

If it's a frame taken from a video/tv clip, it's usually worse than still photography, the shutter speeds just can't compare.

cheers,

daniel

Thanks shortgamer! Do you mind putting up the other frames around that one to further show the shaft deflection? I'd appreciate it.

Shutter Speed 1/2500, the shaft is extremely Bend at impact -

Johnny Miller said that he thinks it hurt Faldo that he only swung

about 60%. Miller thinks he could have hit it farther off the tee with

little loss of accuracy, therefore winning more than he did.

No, What hurt Faldo was streaky putting, in his prime he was longer than average, i recently saw him play against Jeff Sluman in the 1992 world matchplay and he was consistently 20 yards past him on tee shots and sluman is fairly long.

Hey hey hey...

That's Miller talkin, not me.

Plus he never said he was a short hitter. He could have just been longer if he wanted too.

Yeah i guess lol, In theory that might be right, I like Johhny Miller he can be insightful at times but sometimes he can get it wrong, like the time he said for certain Tiger Woods wasn't gona get more than 18 majors, this was only back in 2004.

sounds to me like he is human. i like announcers that have the balls to actually say something and not be afraid to be wrong, rather than announcers who are so afraid of being wrong one time that all they do is say the same thing over and over again. color commentary is supposed to be entertaining.
