From "one method" to...what?

Having followed the SnT model for a year or so, I am ditching it. I'm sick of overdraws, blocks and shanks. Don't get me wrong, the good shots are fantastic, but I'm just too inconsistent. The shanks in particular are wanting to make me give up golf.

So what I'd like to know is - where do I go from here? I have been working on swinging more left, but to little avail; I think an overhaul is needed.

here's a link to a swing vid: dtl_28.04 - YouTube

It's an oldish vid, and the swing is a bit tidier than that now - there's a bit more lag and a little less early extension - but it's not unrecognisably different.

At one time, Brian offered a video lesson but for a number of reasons it never happened.

Any and all constructive advice welcomed

Before I worried about the next method, I would address your grip issue. You look like more than a few people I've encountered over the years. Their grips are faulty. It looks like you have a death grip on the club. Your wrists don't cock. You sort of lunge at the ball instead of just swinging the club.

I see zero evidence of Stack and Tilt in that video.

Just my opinion.

Here is the deal.

We don't teach positions.

Stop worrying about KINEMATICS and start worrying about KINETICS—the how.

You need to learn how to start your arms and release properly first.

Ok - thankyou.

How do i do that?

That is the million dollar ? macduffer, to release or not to release that is the ? How to release hummmmm, lets see have swung anything else besides a golf club? how about a bat, axe, sledge hammer, tennis racket, badmiton racket, racquetball racket, fly swatter? fly swatter dont laugh hey when I swat that fly Im not thinking of wrist angle, wrist cock granted its a fly swatter, but its a tool thats all just a tool, same as a golf club, but with the golf club this tool can bring such joy and such heart ache from on swing to the next, well here is a clue swing as fast as you can I mean fast, but dont hurt yourself and try to stop that fast swing at the ball, better yet dont put a ball there, too much ball focus can hurt. At first you will stop but thats because you want to, you will put out as much effort as to stop more or less around the ball area, I did that but now and then I swung and dam nope couldnt stop that one and that felt way different than the hangle dragging ones I do so I kept at it. But I would wait on Bmanz response hes the MAN! and will do the release justice.

The dreaded hosel fade happens because your right shoulder pops up and round-houses through the strike and follow through. Keep your posture and try to direct your right shoulder to your left hip for a bit longer through the ball.
Kinetics over Kinematics. Alignments over Positions.

I find it extremely difficult if not impossible to hit the hosel fade when I release the club as per the Michael Jacobs release thread.
