Great too see George win his first tour event. I'm glad I haven't read any "32 year old out of obscurity wins" kind of articles. Anyone who has played with or has seen him play knows this was a long time coming. He would shoot crazy low scores on the minis and has one helluva pure swing. The fact that it's taken him so long is a testament to how deep the talent pool is out there. Look for more to come from this guy. If anyone can post a swing of his, it would be a good one to take a look at.

He sure did dominate the hell out of Q school too.

Btw, doubled, George McNeill who is an extremely skinny guy, bombs it effortlessly and is one of the longest guys on tour. What is he 6 feet 165. I mean he absolutely swims in his clothes. Strength in golf is very overrated.

I should've seen that coming. You still think driving distance is the only factor when discussing strength. I have several skinny college kids who fly it 285 but can't fade an iron out of rough - not strong enough. There is more to strength in golf than driving distance!

I didn't say there wasn't! Nice straw man argument. The fact that he's very skinny and still one of the longest on tour certainly takes away from the overall importance of strength however. Strength is still very overrated. Once those kids get to a level of strength that is slightly above average then there is nothing really to gain past that. And they surely don't need performance enhancing drugs to get to that level. People who play football, baseball, etc. consider that level a hilarious joke.

The fact that he's a skinny guy and can hit it far dosen't mean that strength is overrated, it just means that being long isn't simply a function of strength. Solid technique is extremely important, as it is in any other athletic endeavor; in most sports, it's paramount, and only the freakishly physically gifted can get to the highest levels without it. But, just as in any other athletic endeavor, improved functional strength will improve performance. It's very difficult to make a reasonable argument for an athlete, particularly a top level athlete, being too strong.

Would love to see his swing discussed. It looks very simple with a good pivot.

Good way to describe it. First time i saw it I thought......CAN'T MISS. So simple, tons of sustained lag through the ball. Didn't look like he could ever miss it left.

Long now................maybe he will gain yardage if he hits the juice..........

No???????????????????????????????????(question mark)?????????????????
