hi

i said yesterday i would call the golf channel and find out

how they would pick finalists......here is their answer....

Good Afternoon Hesh,

The finalists will be chosen by a Golf Channel panel of judges based on the following criteria: camera presence, knowledge of golf instruction, charisma, and creativity. "Liking" a video is simply a way for users to interact with our entrants.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you!

I thought you were Howard?!?

I think factoring in how many people have "liked" the video at this stage is a bit pre-mature. The criteria that first must be met is the ones of the judging panel for presentation skills. Then after that it will be easier to have a popularity contest. Just look at Dan Shauger. I think that's an absolutely AWFUL video but has 50 "likes". Is it because he presented the information well? Not a chance. It's because he has a recognizable name online. I cannot see how that guy would translate well to TV at all.

I guess it shows you are able to "capture" an audience of some variety.

(a forum and his student clientele, in this case)

Of course it helps but performance (connections aside and as long as things are done fairly enough) is gonna dictate whether you can attract and retain a much larger TV audience.
