Golf DVD's or Tapes best

Wow, interesting posting thus far. I am not qualified to answer your questions but I will say this.....I switched over to TGM about 6 months ago and I do have an Austin Video and many others that never got me out of a double digit handicap (only play once or twice per month too busy). That being said, a friend of mine has the Autinology video....$200.00 is a little steep for me (however I do have the Ben Doyle video at $150.00....could not resist). I'm not sure what is in the MA video but my friend has yet to hit a 300 yard drive and I beat him routinely in Sunday matches. In fact, he seems to be getting worse while I get better....go figure. I think TGM gives you the ability to build a swing and figure out what is missing when you get off compared to simply doing what worked for someone else. By the way, MA is a large guy, so take the 515 drive with that in mind......

For what it is worth.....

PS: I do have all of Brians stuff (along with Chuck and Lynn). Believe me when I say you will hear and see stuff in Brian's materials that is worth its weight in gold. I highly recommend you purchase these before you go with MA stuff.

Kevin, your post is well taken. If you or anyone was to buy Brian's work, which one or two DVD's would you say, covers the most anyone would ever need to teach or learn the golf swing?

Brian, don't be shy here, tell me what you have that is best or what you are coming out with that maybe your best work yet.

Yes, MA is one way, that is why I asked if anyone has his tapes as well as Brian's and can complete the answer on what is the better done work. MA tapes at $200 is way off scale. Know doubt about that, but if they carried the best info. then it could be worth it. Somethng must be wrong as MA['s tapes never did get much attention in the past. It can't be because he couldn't putt !!! Or could it have been ? Things would of been different maybe Yes? Maybe No?

Thanks for coming out.

For real man. I don't care.....honestly.....that drive was prolly straight downwind (hurricane winds), downhill, and then hit a sprinkler head....on it's way to landing on the cartpath. Seriously, for it to go that far something weird must've happened.....

There's just no way that someone could hit it that above and beyond their average length without something crazy happening. I mean.....I don't know his average driving stats......but I'm sure his average drive wasn't like 450...

The question is does anyone believe his long drive record? I can't imagine it unless it hit 5 sprinkler heads then the cart path.

Folks, I am not asking if MA hit it 515. We all know he did not. Let alone hit it that distance at only 20' above the ground. Now that should of sent up a flag to all of the thousands of the FGI followers. It is impossible, even if he had 200 mph club head speed, hurricane winds and a sprinkler head. Bogie at best, I would not even tell anyone that.

I am looking for the best teaching and learning tapes. So far one vote for Brian's "confession of a former flipper". Anyone else agree or say other?

Thanks

Victor

I second the nomination for Confessions of a Former Flipper. I can say without a doubt, it is the best value in all of golf for $9.95.

Let's see...a sleeve of Pro V1's, or a video that will teach educated hands better than anything out there? Pretty easy choice.

Well, here are things I have liked or found useful: All of Brians stuff here but especially former flipper and do it right (it says things you won't hear anywhere else), Chuck Evans video and ebook (they explain how to build your swing in non TGM terms but a little simplistic). I also recommend reading the articles by Paul Smith at iseekgolf.com. He explains with detailed pictures, the dowel drills and other TGM concepts. I also like the video by Rick Nielsen at Power Golf Dynamics. You can find the video on ebay cheaper than his site and it is a brilliant explaination of TGM concepts (forward leaning clubshaft, clubhead control, hit down, out and forward (key, key, key), power accumulators, pressure points in hands, building swing....small to big). No offense Brian, I like your stuff too. I also visit Lynn Blakes site and have everything from Ben Doyle Golf. I think the stuff from Ben is good but I would recommend Brians stuff first since there is much more detail and discussion of how and why.

And last, but not least, I would get the book (TGM). While you may never be an instructor, I find the book much easier to digest and understand as I learn more on the forums and it says a lot with few words. Get it, read it, and have fun beating your buddies on Saturday and Sunday.

Please don't beat me up Brian. I already got hammered on Chuck's site for mentioning other TGM folks but I recommend what I like. Looking forward to the DVDs in the future, good luck getting back up and running. I grew up in Myrtle Beach (you think I would be able to play golf) and we endured hurricanes year after year. Luckily, never lost too much but did move further out and plan to retire not too close to the Atlantic.

Kevin,

I never have any problem with you (or anyone else) mentioning other teachers on my site.

My stuff is good, but as far as making sence out of concepts or just plain live teaching, I KNOW I can hang or blow away anyone.

Bring 'em on!

Now, the guys that don't like competition...you KNOW they are scared.

For a quick fix and i mean you will get it soon you can not go wrong with Manzellas flipper or any of his other downloads. Well worth the price.

Also add

Ben Doyle how to build a golf game

Mike Jacobs Explosive Golf

Rick Nielsen Power Golf

I own the MA dvd nice swing but I did not hit a drive 515 or even 300

It is so sad that CE does what he does. Stick with Brian and Lynn and ALL your bases are covered. Two great guys.

People have different learning styles such that no tape/dvd will 'teach' everyone to actually 'do' the motion of the golf swing the 'best'. That said, UNDERSTANDING what to do is a matter of clear information and presentation. Brian's clips/articles certainly get to the heart of the concepts far better than most. I think Austin's gets to the heart of some very useful 'motions', but is misleading in describing the reason and method for those motions.
