Well, I am pissed off to say the least. I have struck the ball beautifully all year and have gotten nothing out of my rounds. I have had trouble pulling the right stick all year.

Highlights: second off- chilly, mild breeze, good course
First hole- Posing like an idiot, my first 8 iron drops short in the rough- bogey
Third hole- Posing again, my 9 iron drops short- bogey
Fouth hole- Nice putt for birdie
Sixth hole- best swing of the day (posing) drops short on downhill lie in bunker, didnt feel breeze- Double!!

** light into my caddie, felt like Woosie "I give you one job to do, and you cant do it!" I asked him to make me tell him how far I think each shot is playing and whether or not he agrees. Simple task.

7th- 605 yds- 3 good shots, nice putt - birdie
12th- nice wedge to 5 feet birdie
13th- Again poor club, right at it, drops short in rough- bogey
15th- 9 iron to 15 feet - birdie
16th- PW to 12 feet - birdie
18th- PW to 5 feet birdie for 71

71 usully makes it there but it was a good field. I played with the guy who shot 69 so i knew it was a bubble number. had to come back 4 hours later to see there was a 6 for 3 playoff. Had a 5 footer to advance on 1- missed. 41/2 footer on 2 to advance - missed. 3 whipped 3 to get ousted. Sucks.

Yep--I figured it was going to be a tough golf day when I woke up and saw the frost all over the place. And Quicksilver is pretty wide open so any breeze gets magnified. Looked through the list of players there and it was stacked with some big-time dudes---you included. I play there a bunch each year---time to ditch your caddy and let this old guy carry the bag next year! Ha!

Can't really say how I feel how you feel about it but I do know about trying my best to get there only to lose out by a teeny weeny bit. But that's what life is all about and why golf is the most addictive game in the world.

U have youth on your side and you can always give it a try next year. Look at it this way, U have a whole year start on the rest of the field. BTW, I envy your success to make to the qualifiers, something that a golfer like me can only dream to do so.

I was actually kidding. i really didnt light my caddy up. We're good friends but he didnt ask me anything until seven.

Good for you. I really wish I started earlier and I really wish you all the best from this moment on. Whatever it's worth, you have had an experience that most golfers around the world can only dream of. Keep it up.

Any idea why you are short on your yardages?

Have you always tended to be?

On putts/short game too or just irons?

Errrm... if you are asking me then I am still looking for answers. If you are asking Kevin.. then I think it's best to let him figure it out. The kid has been through a tough weekend so let him enjoy the experience. :p

Na na na na...... na na na na....... hey hey hey, be da ball!

Sorry that was lame!

I got a laugh out of it for some reason.

I have an image of Bill Swerski singing.

Hey hey hey...be da Ditkaaa.

Nono I was asking Kevin.

Just curious. If he's not into it that's fine though.

All I know is it's better to be pissed than demoralized. Though either would be understood.

Actually, no. I was always real good at getting pin high. I think its the cold air or something. Just havent made the mental process work yet this year.

Kevin,

Had the same experience in my Open qualifier too. It was unseasonably cold here (55º and raining, ugh) and I had to add just about 20 yards to every yardage since most of the greens were elevated. It killed me on the second hole when my 9 iron buried in the front bunker.

At least you got into a playoff. Nice showing for having such a long layoff. Missed mine by 4. Won't take you guys through the details lest you want me to.

Decided whether you're coming down this way for tournaments yet?
