Nice swings. What were you trying to do different between the two swings? Were they the same club?

Those swings are both trying to do the same things--ball bouncing drill--keeping the shoulder turn flatter throughout the downswing and keeping the club more on plane with an "Andy North finish", as Brian explained it.

You can compare that to my 4-22-11 swings on youtube where I tended to get underplane, have to downarch the left wrist, turn the body/hips real hard and then hold off the release into a cut finish to keep the ball from going left.

Email sent.

The lesson was great. I had trouble hitting off the mat, and when he went to check out why...he didn't like my grip. Then after about 30-40 seconds of gears turning he decided to give me a pattern that would be best for my grip. Wowee. By the time we were done, where I'd had 4-5 questions I was thinking of asking (like why is my backswing flat, and why are some wedge shots more difficult than mid irons...and a few other things) but hadn't been able to ask, I think most all those puzzles had been answered by the new backswing and pattern. My playing partners are amazed at the difference. They are about to have their wallets opened Saturday. :)

DBL's Swings

Here is a typical swing of the last few years. Had gotten pretty flat since seeing Brian in 2006.

Actually in regards the original swing he didn't spend a lot of time fixing it. I did hear him say: "over rotated and laid off". Bingo!

Then in the second video, note the backswing I'm trying to do after the Marbella lesson. more upright and very different. Don't quite have it and the backswing down 100% yet, but much better. Played better with this too.

Okay so on Course for the 2nd real round after the lesson.

So horrors, I can practice something, but then in the REAL SWING I revert to tucking that right elbow. Fortunately I've got some eagle-eyed playing partners who are catching me on it. This week I am spending 80% of my time on the backswing, swing up with elbow out, like 6-8 times, then hit two balls. Backswing only 8-10 times, then hit 2 balls. etc.

Good to hear jen. I'm still working on the changes and haven't had the confidence to take it to the course yet.

it's weird, i can't hit balls on the driving range, but once I get on teh cource with a target, I can hit the ball. At first i had some trouble with the driver because I was so stiff, then I just swing dem arms like noodles and bam! I can also shape the ball the way I want it, except i was horrible at chipping. I think it's because I didn't play for 6 month. So I had +5 and +5 on the 2nd and 3rd hole, and I shot 90. Which isn't bad if I didn't messed up the first 2 holes. I then practice chipping on the side, and it was just gooooood.

I had 1 birdie and lots of pars, I hit balls around the trees, over the trees, it was like i was a little kid again. So Fun.
Gonna play again this weekend, probably shouldn't talk so early, but i feel much better.
