What's the point of having a Hands Only Plane if it's movable, since it can also conincide with all the other Planes?

Looking at the pics of Vijay Singh.....

in pic 4, does it appear that the club is above but parallel to his original address shaft plane ? And in Pics 5 &6 has he returned to this original shaft plane for the hit ?

Thank-you very much [unquote]

Used when the shaft doesn't coincide with another reference point.

Appears that way but isn't.

No, original plane is Hands Only (the thin blue line) impact is higher on Elbow Plane.

Tom,

You are talking about a very minor difference. How important is it?

Not important in the slightest. Ian just wanted to know if he returned to his address plane and I was just pointing out he doesn't. There are quite a few tour players who set up on hands only plane. In fact, the majority probably do it.

so please tell me if i´m right with this:

- if setup my right forearm in line with my shaft at adress, the hands only and ellbowplane are the same.

- Singh´s squared shoulder plane at adress is on the turned shoulder plane (whereas the definition point is the center of the shoulder-joint-sphere)
