Thank you, Todd.

Thank you, Brian

Matt and BigWill set this up with their insight.

The amount of attention Hardy has received about his "either or" plane theories - and wrong for the most part- is greater than the amount of attention TGM gets in a year or more. Something is wrong with that picture.

Not really. "we" love TGM.....there is a hugh group of golfers who dont know, and even if they did know, would not care about TGM for many reasons...... Hardy's "discussion" (not discovery) about two different plane swings is "easy" to see and understand, so it has mass appeal. Besides, many people can actually improve from applying much of what he talks about.....He gives you an answer. TGM give you options..(doesn't tell you) so you dont have to "think".

Face it ALL, TGM has never, and will never appeal to the masses until someone makes it more user friendly (similar to Chuck Cook's book, only better I hope) and/or until more AI has successful pupils on tour and together they tout the benefits of TGM on a national scale.....

The big problem TGM has in gaining public attention is the "intimidation factor". I just finished reading it (as per the 2 suggested orders in the preface), and I never would have bought it if not for Brian's "Flipper" and "The Movie" as well as his articles. While reading TGM, I often reflected upon how lost I would be without that background, plus the various things I have read in this forum. That being said, I am very glad I have read the book and the genius of Homer definitely shines through in several spots. I feel like for the first time in my life I actually understand somewhat what really happens in a golf swing. However, this does not change the fact that overall, it is a HORRIBLY written book, at least from the standpoint of generating any mass appeal. Apart from complexity, it also suffers from poor grammar and syntax, and the graphics and photos could use a bit of an update as well. The book defintitely needs a modern day messenger, and hopefully Brian will be the one to take the message to the masses!

What about "Flipper" & "The (1-4) Movie"?

Both excellent.....BUT, lets face it......WHO KNOWS ABOUT THEM!!!!????? The "few" on some of these sites.....Not exactly setting a new publication record Brian.

No doubt. For those who are in business, TGM is a terrible publication to "reach" a mass audience....PERIOD. It stinks from that perspective. Thats why I reference the Chuck Cook book, it was fairly well written and orgainized.

Today there is an opportunity for the right person to produce a TGM based book to the masses...BUT, I dont know of an AI who wants to chew off that much time and effort for such a project, plus, you need to backing of some players on tour to "legitimize" the book in the eyes of the general public. I also think AI's feel that they would be doing Homer wrong if they wrote a book vastly different than his, yet, using almost all of his concepts....Its like "we cant touch" what Homer has written.

Overall its just very odd that this horribly written book, with the obvious need for an updated and modern version, has not been re-written by many. I can only think of Hebreon (who basically just reprented sections) and Cook, who did a good job with his book back when Payne was playing.
