Has Ledbetter destroyed Wie?

Actually that is what it appeared to me also..... I marshalled there all week. The two drives she hit on #3 (the par 5 where she made 10) must have been 110 to 120 yds apart. The first was sort of heeled I believe, at least it was fairly low and skanky...and so far right you wouldn't believe it. It was actually right of the caddie parking lot. One of the caddies had a yellow mustang shelby GT parked in front, and we warned him amateurs were playing on Wed. Well Michelle was actually right of the cars. Maybe 65-70 yds off target. The second was a pull hook, 40-50 yds off.

She has no clubface control and she still swings too hard on most shots. Oddly, she seemed not to want to be there. She complained about cameramen, gallery and was generally uncommunicative when not complaining, all week.

Her attitude was horrible ans she slapped it all around the course.
Today she took shots at Annika and the LPGA

I hope this is her sink or swim year. I'm a bit tired of her. She is obviously not the first talented teen golfer that couldnt make it on the big stage. Tired of excuses: "she's young!" Not good enough. so are young female tennis stars and gymnast who work a heck of a lot hard than non-sportman golfers.

Hopefully she'll break both wrists and won't donk up more pga events.

Wow that is a bit harsh don't you think...

I would have to say I think the PGA sponser exemptions should halt for Wie until she does something on the LPGA like win a couple of tournaments... I think some of these tournaments think if Tiger or Phil isn't in their field they need a gimmick to bring in viewers.

Ledbetter said on golf channel she is hitting it 25 to 30 yds shorter because she could not work out. How can he get away saying something like this! I would hazard to say that all of us has went 3 or 4 months without working out and we did not lose that kind of yardage. He has simply taught her to hit it 25 yards shorter, I would be frustated too.

Somebody told me they saw Michelle Wie in an event and she was noticably shorter than a tournament he had seen her play prior to that. This was well before the wrist injury.

I know from personal experience that a left wrist injury adversely affected my distance. Whether or not it affected hers, I dunno.

Well, she shot a rock solid 83 today, and it was a miracle she made the cut, she putted unbelievably to make the cut. Her ball striking is borderline amatuerish..

OMFG!!?? She could not work out? She looks like she's been taking Roids for chrissake.

She played in 8 women's events in 2006, 7 of the 8 were against the LPGA's most elite fields (the 4 majors, HSBC match play, Evian Masters, and Samsung World Championship). She finished T3, T5, T3, and T26 in the 4 majors. T5 in the match play, T2 in the masters, and 17 in the WC (she placed solo 3rd in the remaining event). Very limited schedule against the best women's fields and she finished in the top five 6 of her 8 events - is that really that bad?
