Help with my son's driver swing

Hi all. My son struggles consistency with his driver swing. He is 11 and his miss is left, generally hook or pull draw type of flight. Most of the time he is better of using an iron off of the tee because he fights the left side of the course so much with his longer clubs. Sorry about the crud video, it's from my phone. Any advice?

Honestly, make his grip PERFECT (its very poor). Then have him hit wedges, chips, pitches and putts.

I'm with kevin, grip is bad and face is fairly closed and the rest of his swing is simply built around not hooking it.

Thanks for the input. Do you recommend going to a completely neutral grip? He really hasn't had but a little instruction from the local pro here. I think he is doing pretty well in his 2nd year golfing. The help is always appreciated. Thanks!

His right hand grip looks like hes barely holding on, there's a visible gap between his thumb and forefinger.

I remember Brian's advice was something like "Give him a nice grip, pose him in the top of the backswing position, pose him in the finish position (and make a big deal out of that)". I second the idea about hitting lots of chips, pitches and putts.

Nice swing. Clubface is pretty shut the entire swing. The grip is definitely where to start improving his clubface alignment.

Once he gets a more trustworthy grip, you may want to look at how bowed his left wrist is at the top of the back swing. Players who fight a hook will usually cup it longer to hold the face more open.

Not at all. Both hands looks turned under too much. Get both hands more on top on secure up the spaces.
