I have been watching and rewatching IATR and I have made some quick progress with getting my angle of attack down but I am seeing a few blocks and even some hosels out of the short irons. I know it is a face issue but before I screw something up can anyone offer some ideas of things to try to correct it. Thanks in advance.

^^this and your pivot is probably tugging you hands out toward the ball. Keep your hands working in toward your body as the club head is flung out toward the ball.

Check grip and hand path. Vertical FEELING hand path with right grip (and some beta) and you should be good to go.

What was your ballflight with the short irons before the change?

It was a lower left to right flight but I should point out that the pushes and hosels have appeared before for uncertain reasons. I have this feeling that the left elbow starts working away from me through the ball and that it prevents the face from squaring. I know that is vague but it is the best I can describe it. My grip may not be strong enough.

Or a little too much drag from the top, downloaded forward perhaps

From personal experience, the responses above are basicallythe what fixed me. I was a former handle-dragger whom has finally found the light! REALLY PAY ATTENTION TO HAND PATH AND MAKE SURE YOU DON'T GO DIRECTLY AT THE BALL FROM THE TOP WITH THE HANDS. When I began IATR, it was an immediate improvement! When I wasn't AWARE and accidentally reverted to past habits, I shanked one right through my sliding glass window. Holy sh*t!! Believe me, hand path, hands away from target from the top and must be patient enough to let it happen( seems to almost take forever) coupled with the above responses absolutely will fix you right up!!!!
