Nicklaus does the same thing. Nicklaus demonstrates the roll from inside right to inside left --- then outside left on the follow through.

It seems to me that reaching that frame No. 9 (full release/both-arms-straight BEYOND impact) is what dictates the motions of his body parts throughout the entire swing.

In other words, If one could share the same INTENTION of loading the club and throwing and releasing it fully at that point USING THE HANDS (as he does?)(as if the ball were waiting there to be hit?), he/she should be able to generate a nearly identical swing, I guess.

Djd, shoulders are not rigidly attached to the rib cage, they are a sliding plate with a ball and socket that can move closer to the spine (adduction), and away from the spine (abduction).
Most cant turn the chest 90 degrees and keep a steady or non moving head, once the chest is rotated as far as it can go, the shoulders then move closer to the spine (rear shoulder), and away from the spine (lead shoulder). This gives the 90 degree shoulder turn.

MizunoJoe, where did you read Austin says to stay on the insides of both feet? I looked through my info and notes and cant find where he says that. Your observation of his left hip over his left foot is correct, from my notes and info this is what he is doing.

My post was about watching the Nicklaus tape not Austin. A few nights ago on TGC they had a special show "What's in the bag" discussing driver technology. During the show they talked about Austin's record drive.
There were several old (black and white) terrific slow motion clips of Austin's classic swing.
Here is the episode #
Sat, Jul 31 7:30 pm What's in the Bag? Drivers WB_ 04-005
But there is no listing for future showings. I guess one could email TGC and ask when "What's in the Bag? Drivers WB_ 04-005" will air again.

No breakdown of the swing. But several slow motion clips of his awesome swing from different angles probably from the late 50's or early 60's. The show was one of the best TGC shows I have seen. Brian Pavlet was featured including his unique stretching and strengthening routine for increasing swing speed.
