in this pic the line represents the sweetspot plane right?

Rightarmcopy.jpg

as far as I can see nobody actually sets up like this, should we? I found an old post of yours which suggests I think suggests that we should... right? Yoda in bold
quote:2. What are the advantages/disadvantages of setting up with the right forearm and shaft on the same plane angle at address? (I don't see pros do this but it is where they are going to end up at impact isn't it.)

The exact Right Forearm On Plane Angle is established in Impact Fix (8-2) with the Weight (Hip) shifted, the Spine Tilted and the Right Shoulder On Plane. The Left Wrist is Flat and the Right Wrist is Bent. For Hitters, these alignments will be maintained at Adjusted Address (8-3). For Swingers, after Fix, the Weight will be returned between The Feet, the Spine will be Vertical and the Right Shoulder will parallel to the Line. The Left Wrist will be Bent and the Right Wrist will be Flat. Nevertheless, every effort should be made to keep the Right Forearm On Plane (and pointing toward the Line).
From Homer Kelley:

"That's where I get in trouble. When I move back to Adjusted Address, my Forearm gets too high."

I think posting up a picture without even the slightest credit to the person who made the picture is something I don't think much of, is a strong opinion....

I don't mind the use of my pictures at all but the contrast between yoda's use of my pictures vs yours - leaves you very short...

I don't want phrase all I just want a basic courtesy of "here is a picture posed by Mathew" .... its not hard. Even if you disagree and put "Here Mathew poses something I whole heartedly disagree with here"....go for it -

Im not mad, im not even annoyed but I did feel it was a point needed to be made. Feel free to use the pictures just at least put my name... ok.

I would think a picture of your face would be credit enough. Lighten up, Mathew, or patent your work. Your contributions and ground-breaking pictures are very much appreciated, and recognized. I don't even like to call Yoda on the phone without trying to accurately describe what I'm thinking beforehand. The fact that he approaches the master with your example should validate the simplicity and clarity of your post.

no no fairs fair, my bad. I can recall meaning to mention you in both posts Mathew, cant remember what got me sidetracked, my apologies.

As for the picture...the line should go from the sweetspot through pp3. Yours goes from "inside the sweetspot" - too towards the club's heel - and then through pp3 and up the forearm. If you get the starting point of the line correct, which is on the sweetspot, then the line will extend up through pp3 and stop at the grip.

The Line of Thrust should extend from the Sweetspot through the #3 Pressure Point and up the middle of the Right Forearm. The reason it misses the #3 Pressure Point in this photo -- even though the Right Wrist is properly held Level -- is that the Club is not positioned as it should be, i.e., in the Cup of the Right Hand (and not against the heel).

And one last nit-picky comment on Mathew's wonderful contribution:

The Clubshaft is the angled extension of the Right Forearm, not vice versa. :)
