There has never been a stronger combined player than Tiger (mentally, physically and golfingcally

) Tiger took golf to a whole new level. Getting professional golfers to realize that physical conditioning is going to be part of the golfing equation as well as an exceptional short game. The days when a man can win 18 majors without physical conditioning and without one hell of a short game are gone. Jack won 18 majors with a mediocre short game. He got away with it because his long game was exceptional and the great short game players were few and far between. Today, thanks to Tiger, physical conditioning is a must , long game is a must and the short game is a triple must. There are several dozen players now than can win in any given week. It's going to take another Tiger to find that missing link and take golf to the next level.Rory? He is only 22.But Tiger of past made Rory's job a hell of alot harder. In the mean time the only thing stopping Tiger from winning more majors and going past that magic 18 mark will be his physical well being. If his knee doesn't allow him to play to his full potential he is in trouble.
As far as playing tournaments from the front tees or on shorter courses etc, that is a pipe dream. Simply because the all mighty dollar rules. MORE people pay to see in person and watch on TV a tournament that rewards the long bomber who can reach a 600 yard par 5 in 2. Until that changes TV networks and the average Joe will not shell out money.
