Follow up on what I wrote on this thread in March of 2011. In early December 2011 I made a trip to Charlotte, NC and did the Edel Putter Fitting. After years and years of mallet style, I ended up with a blade style in their basic non-adjustable model. I received the putter just after Christmas. Quality just oozes out of this thing. The number of Edel insignias on the head cover is a tad over the top. The round grip is interesting. I like it.
I have only played three rounds with it. I can only contrast it's performance to my "Itsy Bitsy Spider". I am striking putts on line more consistently. I actually do feel like I can aim it better than the spider. My distance control is clearly better. Feel like I have more touch. So is the Edel Putter magic. No. I think the fitting process and subsequent custom putter simply provides a better chance of finding something that fits. However, 3 rounds in the winter does not guarantee success, but I have high hopes.
