hips in the back swing?

What would cause the right hip and the right knee to move back in the backswing?

Extending (straightening) the right leg.......there is nothing wrong with that, as long as the right knee is not "locked back" at the top of the backswing, many good players extend the right leg on the backswing, it can be an aid to making a full B/swing without overstressing the lower back muscles...

how about the slant to the hips?

if we start with the belt buckle lower than the back of the belt where it touches the spine, should we be looking to have the right hip higher at the top of the backswing to make sure that the hips are turning on the same plane as set in address?

Slicer,
Brian has an excellent Utube video specific to variation in hip orientation.

If the left knee bends during the backswing, then the left side must shorten if the left foot is still flat on the ground...correspondingly the hips will slant, with
left hip lower, unless you bend the right knee the same amount, which is a no-no as you will then lower your swing center...
