I hit the ball much further and straighter when i'm hitting on grass compare to driving range mats. I feel like the ball is always lower when i'm hitting on the mat. Is it because you don't trap the ball well when you are hitting on a mat?
That would be my first guess... plus, some of it may be mental as well, you know your not going to be able to make a divot, and no matter how much you accept that, its going to make you hit it lower on the club face, resulting in lower trajectory.
anyways, I have been playing with my mizuno mp60 for 3 years...and today i was hitting so low punch shots and snap. It broke!! I have been hitting pretty good, I dun understand how this could have happened!!
One thing I did learn about mats...
If you put the ball in one of the little holes that the rubber tee pegs come up through, it trains you to hit down through the ball....
One pro swears by this and all his juniors apparently work well with it...
