Hitting a fade with an iron

Given the fact the clubhead travels down and out to low point, if the golfer wishes to hit a fade with an iron, does he/she have to swing a little further left than might be thought in order to take that into account?

Even more so than you think even accounting for down and out. With higher lofted clubs the axis of rotation will stay more horizontal since the D-Plane is more vertical. The more lofted the club gets, the straighter the ball flight will tend to be.

Thanks for the confirmation.

With a draw it seems to me to be the opposite in the sense that you get the out for free if you're able to hit down on it and you don't need to think too much about it, just the relationship of the face with that path and the relationship to the target.
