hitting it solid - drills or exercises?

for me, if I've had a good shoulder turn on the backswing and can manage a good pivot move through the ball with proper impact hands I can hit some pretty solid wedge and hybrid shots.

contact with other irons feels mushy mostly, but i get some good ones now and then. seems like it is all pivot dependant though. if i quit, my hands release and i hit it fat.

what are some good drills and exercises i can to get my pivot mucles up to snuff? bottom line is that if i don't pivot/turn my ass off, i crash into the ground before the ball.

For a right handed player: go to a corner in your house and face the wall to the right. Place your hands at shoulder level on the wall in front of you. Practice turning your belt buckle to the wall to your left while keeping your hands on the wall in front of you.

That's a good video from Brian, I've never seen it before. Thx for sharing

This is, in my opinion, the BEST drill you can do to improve ball striking. I prefer drills were I need to make full swings (some drills and training aids prohibit this). You don't even need a ball unless you are practicing sand shots. If you have a nearby field or park with some sand, you are golden. Draw the line and follow Brian's instructions.
