Hogan on the lawn

I finally dug this out of an old computer that crashed. I believe its on George Coleman's lawn, from the mid-seventies. I am sure I read somewhere that Hogan had not hit balls for a while, he had stopped playing due to ill health, so thise explains how excited he got in the sequence, he hit one ball and suddenly he is reaching out quickly for more balls, he just couldn't stop. Its low quality, but stick with it, because the real gem in this is Hogan swinging in slo-mo to demonstrate his swing. It looks like th film has slowed down until you notice the waves behind. Great stuff

Who is posting this stuff and where did they get it.....??????

Any info, pm me please....

Unbelievable....3 years ago maybe 8 people had this.

read the new book "the match" by mark frost....goes into detail about hogan, george coleman, eddie lowery, and of course nelson, venturi, and harvie ward...

also in the very beginning of the video you hear coleman talking to "franco"....i'm assuming that franco is coleman's longtime butler who is also mentioned in frost's book...

pretty cool stuff....

they mentioned that coleman owned "5% of every thing" in the 40s, 50s, and 60s...a very successful businessman....i also am assuming that this backyard where hogan is hitting balls is in very close proximity to seminole...one of coleman's many elite clubs

I also...

...have a copy. I was told this was shot at George Coleman's estate in Fla. Mr. Hogan is wearing Coleman's shoes and using Coleman's driver. I found this on another site.

Perhaps part of the problem the poster has is that the video was kept to a just a few, years ago when you needed 8mm or whatever it was shot on. Then years later, if it was passed around at all, there were sometimes copies available for big $. I recall there may have been some legit owner selling it.

Nowadays someone posts it publically and it goes around the world and everyone has seen it, yet somewhere out there is an original owner who might not want to have had it released. Not everything is really in the public domain just becuase it gets posted.

Anyway, I don't have the exact knowledge of the provenance of this particular video itself, but I remember only being able to hear rumors of it's existence back in the 90's. Same with the footage shot at the Masters practice round.

Those who know more of the specifics are welcome to chime in.

Awesome Video

If you check the bottom left corner you can see where the movie was taken from... I watched the movie a few months back with a friend of mine that knew Hogan. He told me the video was shot in Mr. Coleman's back yard close to Palm Beach, FLA.

I see now, it's a money thing. I can understand that.

I doubt its money. It was kept off the web early on because he didn't want it seen, after he died by his wife for the same reason. I read that somewhere, now its sort of built of this mythical status due to rarity.

Years ago i spent some time with Gardner Dickinson while working in Jupiter. Once i watched their house for them while they were away. I can't even begin to guess the monetary value of some of the original, unedited Hogan stuff and the original graphite Ravielli sketches that were just casually laying around the house. I often wonder what happened to all that stuff cuz it would be worth a fortune. I love the clips from Coleman's lawn. It can't be too rare though. We have it on our V1 software as a swing model.

What's your problem with these latest videos? Just curious.

Here's my issue.

3 years ago, no one had that. Now....everyone does.
Ok, one step further. Lets say, I invested alot of money - and time - to get it. And traded with someone else. And, 9 months later, everyone has it.

See my point? And if you had it, or anyone else did, pm me. I have more then....good lord.

Anyone have Tiger with Butch teaching????

I mean no ill will to anyone,

By all means....go 4 it.

Remember...

Our great friend "Woody_b_Dub" is Brent White, the former Head Pro at Shady Oaks. We have seen a lot of stuff from Brent.

?

Before Katrina, I had a signed (for me) Ben Hogan Merion pic, framed on my wall, and a signed 5 LESSONS book, both from "the Man."

I am pretty sure Tom Bartlett has (from Brent) all sorts of Hogan stuff you have never seen.

These pics came off the web.

Don't you love how it shows the utter lack of "tripod-ness" of the great man's swing?

I sure do. ;)
